About the author

Alyssa Kashyap Vora

“A reader at heart and a writer by calling, Alyssa believes that children deserve stories that see them fully.”

Alyssa is a 17-year-old author and poet based in Mumbai, India, whose love of words began long before she could write them. Curled up with a book as a little girl, she discovered early on that stories had a kind of magic she never wanted to let go of.

That lifelong love of reading grew naturally into writing, and today she crafts poetry and children’s stories that aim to spark the same wonder in young readers that she once felt herself.

Alyssa serves as Editor in Chief of her school newspaper, where she leads a community of young voices and storytellers. As co-head of her school’s book club, she brings fellow readers together to celebrate the stories that move and inspire them. She also runs The Travelling Pages, a blog dedicated to translated fiction, shining a light on literature from around the world.

Alyssa pours her conviction—that children deserve stories that see them fully—into every word she writes.
